Countries Where You Can Teach Without a Degree

Below you can see a list of countries that are very lenient when it comes to teaching English without a degree.

Please take into account that NES* will always be given preference, however, it is still possible for NNES* to get employed too, unfortunately, not always officially. Even if it’s a legitimate job, you won’t get paid a lot or get a decent benefits package.

You can learn more about the salaries and job benefits in different countries here.

The main requirements for non-natives are to have a clear neutral accent and sometimes the CEFR C1+ level (IELTS academic band score 7.0+; TOEIC – 945+; TOEFL iBT – 95+).

Having a teaching certificate and/or some experience is always advantageous and only sometimes a requirement.

Note that nearly all countries in Latin and South America don’t require a degree, however, in order to get a job there, you already need to be in that country.
